Free Wills via a local solicitor

National Free Wills Network

Our membership of the National Free Wills Network means we can offer a simple single Will or mirror Wills for free. The Wills are made via a local solicitor chosen from a network of over 800 firms throughout the UK. Once a Will is made, the Macular Society pays a fixed fee to the participating solicitor.

To register your interest, simply complete this registration form and we’ll arrange for your free Will pack to be sent to you, complete with a list of participating local solicitors.

Bequeathed

Bequeathed makes it easy to start your Will online, and complete it in a way that suits you. You get all the support and guidance you need to make a free online Will, including a free half an hour consultation with a solicitor. If you need further legal advice, one of Bequeathed’s partner solicitors will give you a price for completing your Will by phone or face to face. Bequeathed operates in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland and anyone over 18 is welcome to use the service. The Macular Society is working with Bequeathed and other sight loss charities to make the service fully accessible and inclusive. Start your will online here or visit bequeathed.org/macular

Free Wills with a home visit

The Goodwill Partnership

The Goodwill Partnership offers a free Will service, starting with a home visit to take your instructions. Your Will is then drafted, reviewed by a solicitor, and posted to you for approval, signing, and witnessing. Home visits are available in England and Wales.

To make your Will through Goodwill please contact our gifts in Wills team, or visit the Goodwill website.

Other services

If you’d prefer to pay for your Will yourself, you can search for local solicitors on the Law Society, Law Society of Scotland, and Law Society of Northern Ireland websites, using your postcode. Solicitors for the Elderly, a membership organisation of solicitors specialising in issues affecting older people, is also searchable by postcode.
