New conference promotes importance of the patient experience
Posted: Wednesday 24 August 2016Eye care professionals are being invited to a Macular Society conference in November. The day ‘Excellence in Patient Support’ will focus on the experiences of people with macular conditions and the services they need to help cope with their sight loss.
Leading experts will cover topics such as the latest in macular treatments, emotional support, the impact of visual hallucinations and the role of nurse injectors. Patients themselves will speak about their experiences and needs.
Cathy Yelf, Chief Executive of the Macular Society, said: “We greatly value the dedication and expertise of eye care professionals and know how stretched they are.
“We hope that this will be a valuable day for them. Being diagnosed with macular disease can be devastating and often leads to depression, isolation and loss of independence. Our job is to help improve lives with excellence in advice, information and support.”
The event will be held at the Union Jack Club in Sandell Street, London. Tickets are no longer available.
