Our organisation
Whether we’re answering your calls, offering practical support, or raising the funds for research, we have the same mission: to Beat Macular Disease.
Our strategy
We are the specialist charity for people with macular conditions. Our strategy is to tackle one of the biggest public health challenges in the developed world and one of the most devastating conditions that can affect a person.
Our people
Our people are one of our biggest strengths – find out about the people who make up the Macular Society.
Our regions
We are proud to have staff based around the UK to give you localised support; including regional managers, peer support coordinators and a groups admin team based at our head office in Andover.
Our impact
Every one of our supporters makes a real difference to the lives of everyone affected by macular disease. With their help we provided advice and support for people affected by macular disease in various ways. Read about our impact here.
Our history
The Macular Society was founded in 1987 by Elizabeth Thomas who was dismayed by the lack of support that she, and other people with macular disease, were offered. Find out what we have achieved since then.
