About our support groups
Peer support groups
We offer a range of peer support groups across the UK, meeting either in person or by phone. However you join, it’s a great way to meet others affected by macular disease, build friendships, and grow in confidence. .
Our groups offer a safe and welcoming space to:
- hear about local services and how the Macular Society can support you
- listen to interesting guest speakers
- share tips and experiences of living with sight loss
- better understand your macular condition
Face to face support group in your local community
We have groups meeting in local venues all across the UK.
If you are not sure which group is right for you, or need help connecting with a group, please contact our Volunteer and Group Support Team by calling 01264 560 259 or email groupsadmin@macularsociety.org
Telephone support groups
If you’re not able to get to a group in person, some groups meet by telephone conference call. These one-hour calls provide helpful updates, friendly voices, and a chance to connect from the comfort of home.
To find out more, call our Volunteer and Group Support Team on 01264 560 259.
Support for working age people and younger adults
Our groups are open to anyone aged 18 and over. We also offer specific support for younger people and those of working age. These sessions often focus on topics such as benefits, employment, and access to work. To find out what support is available to you, visit our Working age and young people support page or call us on 01264 560 259.
